Permanent Guest -- Scarlet Macaw
This is another one of my favorite places with both a relaxing and great birding experience here. It is a small family-operated 10 suite or 10 cabin hotel on the beach of Tambor Bay alongside a river with a nature trail following it about 7 km and a shorter nature trail on hotel property and an Olive ridley Turtle hatchery and rescue center next to the hotel. August to December you can join the volunteers rescuing turtles and birding guides are available year around plus a tour company for bigger adventures of your choice!
The all wood cabins are very large and beautiful with great views and even sunrises! The food varies from typical to very good and the service is excellent! I would go again in a heartbeat. I photographed 35 of the44 species of birds seen, 5 that were new to me! Plus other wildlife and nature. I am not a beach or pool person but I did appreciate a massage one day! And all the people are wonderful!
