Circumcision Rites for boys in The Gambia at Bijilo Beach. They have just had the physical circumcision and are coming to bathe in the salt water of the Atlantic which is healing to their cut. Different tribes do it at different ages and in different ways, but they all go away from their family and stay in the forest with only men for a period of time in preparation for becoming men.

Gambia Independence Day Celebration, February 18, 2002--37 years of independence. It was mostly a parade of military troops and schools in the big stadium with Senegal President as a special guest.
